Hot Tips To Help Morning Sickness
Author: julie gardnerIf you're suffering from morning sickness then you have my every sympathy. After sailing through my first pregnancy with no nausea at all. My second pregnancy was a total shock, and living nightmare. If I had known what I know now, it might have been an awful lot better.
Some experts believe that morning sickness is caused by hormones that keep your baby growing. Then you have more hormones that keep your muscles soft and stop you from going into labor too early. All these extra hormones are bound to play havoc with your body. Estrogen (another hormone!) can heighten your sense of smell, and make smells that you hate ten times stronger. Even some smells that you love can become a tad unbearable when it's so strong.
Whatever the cause of this daily problem (because no two experts can agree, and no-one is really sure) One thing that you can be sure of is that it makes you feel just terrible. I was lucky in one respect that I just 'felt sick' I fortunately didn't get to the stage where I was hanging over the toilet morning. But I have had friends that have suffered terribly.
You may start to dread going to bed, because you know that when you wake, it will start all over again. So what can you really do to ease, if not totally cure this gut wrenching problem.
Preventing morning sickness - Prevention is better than cure!
So they say anyway! But it's certainly worth a try.
As silly as this may sound, avoid places where you know you are going to hate the smell if you can. A day trip to the seaside may not be a good idea if you can't stomach the smell of fish and chips. Try and avoid fatty and fried foods. It might also be worth giving those 'rich' foods a miss for a while too. Eat little, but often. Instead of eating 3 large meals a day, try breaking them up. Have 5 or 6 small smaller pertions of food over the day, this way you won't overload your stomach. There are more remedies for morning sickness available now than when I was carrying my children. Any one of these remedies could work for you. So have a read and try some out...
